Vacancy Description

Dorset County Hospital (DCH) is a friendly, open and supportive team of talented and committed executive and non-executive directors looking for candidates who can bring different insights and perspectives, really challenging our thinking and helping us to do more for and with our population and staff. We are a Trust that celebrates diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We recognise the value of diversity in leadership, so we would particularly welcome applications from people from groups that are under-represented at Board level.

We have always been an organisation that believes – and invests in – partnerships and you will be joining us at a time when we are working more closely with Dorset Healthcare, our local Mental Health and Community Trust and progressing the appointment of a joint Chair and Chief Executive.

This is a time of significant change, but also huge potential opportunity as we work with partners right across our health and care economy to deliver our strategy of putting people first, working together to deliver accessible, outstanding care for people in ways which matter to them, and make the west of Dorset a healthier place for all who live and work there.

Person Specification

DCH is looking for a new clinical NED with experience in the field of population health, inequalities and the way in which NHS organisations can add social value to their local community.
