We are looking for a Non-executive Director (NED) at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) who will also be responsible for chairing the Trust’s Quality and Safety Committee which is required to provide assurance to the Trust Board that there are robust processes in place for the effective management of patient safety and quality governance across the Trust supporting the organisation to deliver its strategic objectives relating to the provision of high-quality care. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services contributing to the shared responsibility for improving the health of PAHT’s population by sharing your clinical talents and expertise to help transform the hospital deepening the collaborative working essential to make a positive difference to their local community.

Ideally, the successful candidate will take on the role of the NED maternity safety champion, assuming a senior advocacy role for patient safety and feedback, working closely with the Trust’s safety champions and attending their bimonthly meetings. Their role will be to oversee and ensure that women’s voices are truly heard by the maternity service via the active and meaningful involvement of the Maternity Voices Partnership, amongst other measures.

You will need to be able to demonstrate you can use your experience to:

  • Work alongside other non-executives and executive colleagues as an equal member of the board
