Vacancy Description

This is an unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the ambulance trust and make a positive difference to your community and across the East of England, and to play an active part in the six Integrated Care Boards.

EEAST is one of the largest ambulance services in the UK and provide 24 hour, 365 days a year emergency and urgent care services to around 6.2 million people in six counties, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk which is an area of about 7,500 square miles.

EEAST has a bold vision to ensure that the people of the East of England region are provided with excellent emergency and urgent care from their dedicated team of nearly 5,000 staff and 1,500 volunteers. Their overarching aim is to place their patients and staff at the heart of everything they do while delivering their vision of ‘outstanding care, exceptional people, every hour of every day’.

Person Specification

We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable ambulatory services for the people of Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

This is a real opportunity for you to utilise your innovative thinking and strategic leadership in developing an exemplar to the rest of the UK’s ambulance trusts. EEAST is looking to build an ambulance service that will attain its goals, drive a culture of continuous improvement, roll out their ambitious strategic plans in moving the organisation forward.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.

We particularly welcome applications from women, people from the local black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles.

Our recruitment processes are conducted in accordance with the Code of Governance to ensure that they are made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.
