Vacancy Description
We are looking for an exceptional leader to chair Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust (DGT).
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the hospital and make a positive difference to your community and across Kent and south east London, including working as an active part of the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
DGT is one of the largest hospital trusts in North Kent, with services at three sites serving a local population of over 500,000 people. DGT’s vision is to be an outstanding hospital Trust providing the best possible care for their patients that is safe, well-coordinated, in the right place and designed around the patient’s needs. Everything they do is guided by their vision and core Trust values.
The Trust is committed to creating a culture where equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of the organisation and the responsibility of everyone at the Trust. The Trust is on a journey to being an ‘outstanding’ Trust and this role is vitally important to support, challenge, provide independent judgement and advice and influence the Trust to embed the necessary cultural change necessary to achieve this.
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of Kent, and some surrounding areas. Please see the candidate information pack for full details about the role.
We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.
We particularly welcome applications from women, people from the local black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles.
Our recruitment processes are conducted in accordance with the Code of Governance to ensure that they are made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.
