Vacancy Description

Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) came together in 2021 to create a formal partnership, to make a demonstrable difference to their service users, local residents and staff. Working as one voice for mental health, they expect to strengthen their influence over the strategic direction of travel in North Central London, ensuring that health and social care resources are fairly allocated to meet the needs of people with mental illness and health problems.

The appointment of Joint Chair comes at a very important and critical time as the NHS moves out of the pandemic and the development of integrated care systems continues at pace. The Joint Chair will cultivate a strong, collaborative partnership with the Boards of both organisations, in particular building strong relationships with the Joint Chief Executive and Non-Executive Directors as well as with key external stakeholders in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and the wider North Central London Integrated Care System (NCL ICS).

Person Specification

C&I and BEH are seeking a very special individual; someone able to demonstrate a high level of experience and understanding of healthcare. Likewise, given the complexity of the System, the successful individual will come with some Chair experience, be committed to the principles of the NHS and the aims of both organisations. They will provide highly effective, visible, and authentic leadership as well as excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate and work with a range of partners. Their diplomacy and political awareness will be well developed as well as their focus and track record of success in ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion will be at the heart of what and how the organisations develop.
