An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
Dr Jamie Fraser, Professor Jonathan Friedland, Professor Martin Gore, Professor Malcolm Macleod, Dr Rebecca Mann and Professor Shirley Price have been re-appointed as Commissioners of the Commission for Human Medicines for 4 years from 1 April 2018. The appointments will continue to involve a time commitment of approximately 22 days per year, including 11 meetings. Remuneration for the roles will be at the standard rate of £325 per day. These appointments are made in accordance with the Cabinet Office Code of Governance for Public Appointments. The regulation of public appointments against the requirements of this Code is carried out by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. The appointments are made on merit and political activity played no part in the decision process. However, in accordance with the Code, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Dr Jamie Fraser, Professor Jonathan Friedland, Professor Martin Gore, Dr Rebecca Mann and Professor Shirley Price have not declared any political activity. Professor Malcolm Macleod has declared political activity, and has canvassed / helped at elections for Labour.
