An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
Simon Hughes has been appointed as interim chair and David Rawsthorn as interim non-executive director of the NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA). The non-executive director will also chair the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC). Both appointments will commence on 1 November 2017 for up to one year or until a substantive appointment to the role is made, whichever is the earliest.
The appointments involve a time commitment of 2 to 3 days per month. The chair will be remunerated at a rate of £14,450 per annum and the non-executive director will be remunerated at the standard rate of £13,137 per annum.
These appointments are made in accordance with the Cabinet Office Code of Governance for Public Appointments. The appointments are made on merit and political activity played no part in the decision process. However, in accordance with the Code, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Simon Hughes and David Rawsthorn have not declared any political activity.
