An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.

NHS England is pleased to announce the appointment of Aislinn O’Dwyer as Chair of East Cheshire NHS Trust from 1 March 2023 until 28 February 2027. She will receive remuneration of £43k pa. She has not declared any political activity in the last five years.

Vacancy Description

We are looking for an exceptional leader to chair East Cheshire NHS Trust.

This is an unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the hospital and make a positive difference to your community, and across Cheshire as an active part of the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

East Cheshire NHS Trust’s purpose is to deliver outstanding care and to improve the health of ALL the people they serve. As a community and acute trust serving a large population of over 250,000, their vision is to deliver the best care in the right place. They have more than 2,500 staff who work across community settings and three hospital sites.

Person Specification

We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of East Cheshire and surrounding areas.

As Chair of the Board, you will have a pivotal role in a complex geography where interpersonal and relationship building skills will be essential alongside all the usual qualities you will need as a Chair.

Your values really matter to the Trust. If you support and value public service, share their values and behaviours, believe you can champion the standards of public life and can show how you have influenced beyond the sphere of your role, then they would value a discussion.

Please see the attached chair information pack for full details.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.

We particularly welcome applications from women, people from the local black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles.

Our recruitment processes are conducted in accordance with the Code of Governance to ensure that they are made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.
