An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
The Secretary of State for Education has reappointed Martha Longdon to the board of the Office for Students (OfS) as a ‘student experience’ board member for 15 months from 1 October 2021 to 31 December 2022.
Remuneration for this position is £9,180 per annum for an estimated time commitment of 20 days.
The appointment is made under Schedule 1 of the Higher Education Act 2017, and in satisfaction of the requirement in paragraph 2(3) for the appointment of a board member with experience of representing or promoting the interests of students.
Martha is a PhD doctoral research student studying Biosciences at Nottingham Trent University. She has a lead responsibility for ensuring that the OfS board oversees the embedding of student engagement within the culture and structure of the organisation and chairing the OfS student panel.
The register of interests of board members is published on the Office for Students website. Martha has not declared any political activity.
The OfS is a non-departmental public body and has a remit to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and career.
