Vacancy Description
NHS England / NHS Improvement are looking for an exceptional leader to chair Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the Trust and make a positive difference to your community.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is a values based, inclusive and innovative community, mental health and learning disability provider with 4,000 talented staff providing 81 services across two counties from over 100 sites.
Following the retirement in 2021 of their current Chair, we believe there has never been a more important time to join the organisation and provide leadership to the Trust and the wider system as the Trust responds to the community based challenges arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Whilst they are a stable and well performing NHS Trust, they remain highly ambitious to further transform and innovate how they deliver care and as Chair, you will support and sustain this commitment to continuing improvement in everything they do.
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who are motivated to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of Herefordshire & Worcestershire, and some surrounding areas.
We are actively seeking candidates from a range of diverse and inclusive backgrounds who offer the leadership skills required to take the Trust forward, and your values, Board level experience, and ability to inspire and harness the talents of others is more important than the sector you have gained your experience in.
We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.
We particularly welcome applications from women, people from the local black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles.
Our recruitment processes are conducted in accordance with the Code of Governance to ensure that they are made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.
