Announcement

An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.

NHS England is pleased to announce the appointment of Yemisi Gibbons as Chair of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. She has been appointed from 1 January 2023 until 31 December 2025. She will receive a remuneration of £47,100 per annum. She has not declared any political activity in the last five years.

Vacancy Description

Croydon is a trailblazer in integration to join-up health and care services for local people, in line with radical reforms in the NHS.

The Trust is also a forerunner in service recovery after being one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening a ‘hospital within a hospital,’ the Trust was able to safely treat patients needed planned surgery and treatment throughout the pandemic and has been able to reduce waits for thousands of people as part of a coordinated response across the health and care system in South West London.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CHS) has more than 4,000 staff and volunteers caring for over 385,000 Croydon residents in south London.

NHS England has a specific role in appointing and supporting NHS trust chairs and non-executives. We are looking for an exceptional leader to chair CHS. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform  the hospital and make a positive difference to your community.

Person Specification

We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of South West London.

Please read the candidate information pack for full details.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.

We particularly welcome applications from women, people from the local black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles.

Our recruitment processes are conducted in accordance with the Code of Governance to ensure that they are made on merit after a fair and open process so that the best people, from the widest possible pool of candidates, are appointed.
