An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
The Secretary of State for Education has reappointed David Palfreyman and Simon Levine to the board of the Office for Students (OfS) as ordinary members for 3 years, from 1 January 2021.
These appointments are made under schedule 1, paragraph 2(1)(d) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, which permits the appointment of up to 12 ordinary or non-executive OfS board members. Remuneration is £9,180 a year for an estimated time commitment of 20 days. Neither appointee has declared any conflicts of interest or political activity.
The OfS is a non-departmental public body and has a remit to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.
