An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
Carole Stott MBE, Hamid Patel CBE, Martin Spencer, Julie Kirkbride and Baroness Laura Wyld have been appointed to serve on the Ofsted board from 1 August 2019.
Martin Spencer and Baroness Laura Wyld will serve terms of 4 years and Carole Stott MBE, Julie Kirkbride and Hamid Patel CBE will serve terms of 3 years. End dates are staggered to ensure continuity of the board.
John Cridland CBE and Venessa Willms OBE have been re-appointed to serve for an additional 3 years from 18 July 2019.
Remuneration for each role is £8,282 per annum for an estimated time commitment of 20 days’ work.
Hamid Patel CBE, Martin Spencer, Julie Kirkbride, Venessa Willms and John Cridland CBE have not declared any political activity.
Carole Stott MBE is a Commissioner on the Labour Party Independent Commission on Lifelong Learning and Baroness Wyld is a Conservative member of the House of Lords.

Hamid Patel CBE is chief executive of Star Academies Multi Academy Trust and chair of governors at Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School.
Martin Spencer holds non-executive board member positions at the Education Skills Funding Agency, Serious Fraud Office, Companies House and the NHS Counter Fraud Authority.
Carole Stott MBE is chair of the board of governors at Bath College.
Baroness Laura Wyld is a member of the Social and Economic Impact of the Gambling Industry Committee of the House of Lords.
