NHS Improvement is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Masom as Chair of Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust from 1 December 2018 to 30 November 2020.

We are looking for an exceptional leader to chair Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the hospital and make a positive difference to your community.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust employs 3000 staff and provides healthcare on two district general hospital sites, serving a community of 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of Southport and Ormskirk. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who can apply their experience from different sectors, as well as from health, to this demanding role.

Long-listed candidates will be invited for preliminary interview with Robin Staveley from Gatenby Sanderson on 4 and 5 October 2018. To facilitate this, we will share your application form with Gatenby Sanderson. Feedback from these interviews will be given to the panel.
The shortlisted candidates will be invited to the Trust to meet the Chief Executive and its key stakeholders on 16 October 2018 in Southport.
The final panel interviews will take place on 29October 2018 in central Manchester.
